The Test of Written English (TWE) is also given by YADYOK on the same day as the BUEPT. | |

Those applicants who have taken the TOEFL/IELTS and received the required minimum general score but have failed the Writing section may apply for the TWE exam at the YADYOK Student Affairs Office. When applying, they must submit their original TOEFL/IELTS score report. Again, applications must be made prior to the exam date. Applicants who receive a passing grade on the YADYOK TWE are considered proficient in English. | |

Administered by the Educational Testing Service of the U.S.A., the TOEFL is an internationally recognized English proficiency exam that is given weekly throughout the year in many countries. | English Proficiency Exemption | ||

Applicants who are holding an undergraduate degree received from Boğaziçi University at most two academic years prior to application for graduate program are exempted from English proficiency. | |

The language proficiency of those applicants who are the citizens of countries whose official language is English will be determined upon an interview and a written exam, if necessary, conducted by YADYOK. | |

Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES) | |
| * | Applicants are required to have taken the ALES, administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), and have received the minimum score in the score type required by the Graduate Program to which they are applying. | |
| * | Some programs may not require submission of an ALES score. Please check the application requirements of the specific Graduate Program you wish to apply for further information. | |
| * | Applicants who have exmatriculated from a graduate program and have later been readmitted to the same or any other graduate program, or applicants who have completed a graduate program and have been admitted to another graduate program (having taken no more than a one-semester leave from their program) do not have to take the ALES again. | |
| * | ALES scores are valid for three years. | |

Applicants holding a degree from a university in Turkey, are required to submit a disciplinary record taken from the university they have graduated or expected to graduate. | |

Students who are registered in Boğaziçi University programs on the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2012-2013 do not have pay the application fee(s). | |

All other applicants have to pay the application fee(s). These include Boğaziçi University students who were not registered during the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2012-2013, Boğaziçi University graduates and outsiders. | |
