English Proficiency
	The language of instruction at Boğaziçi University is English.
	Applicants must prove their proficiency in English through one of the exams accepted by the University Senate.
	If the exam scores have not been announced at the time of application, you may enter the exam date you have taken/will take and leave the score fields empty.
	Applicants who possess exam scores must validate their scores at the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK).

	Boğaziçi University English Proficiency Test (BUEPT)
	Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
	International English Language Testing System (IELTS)

English Proficiency Test (BUEPT)
	BUEPT exam is conducted by the School of Foreign Languages (YADYOK)
	BUEPT will be given on June 5, 2013.
	Applicants who wish to take the BUEPT must apply for the exam at the YADYOK Student Affairs Office prior to the exam date.
	The Test of Written English (TWE) is also given by YADYOK on the same day as the BUEPT.
	Those applicants who have taken the TOEFL/IELTS and received the required minimum general score but have failed the Writing section may apply for the TWE exam at the YADYOK Student Affairs Office. When applying, they must submit their original TOEFL/IELTS score report. Again, applications must be made prior to the exam date. Applicants who receive a passing grade on the YADYOK TWE are considered proficient in English.

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
	Administered by the Educational Testing Service of the U.S.A., the TOEFL is an internationally recognized English proficiency exam that is given weekly throughout the year in many countries. The announcement and delivery of TOEFL score reports can take up to 1 month. For more information on the TOEFL, please refer to http://www.ets.org/
	TOEFL TWE score report must be presented as well. Minimum TOEFL scores required for admission:
	TOEFL (paper-based test) 550 + TWE 4.5
	TOEFL CBT (Computer-based test) 213 + TWE 4.5
	TOEFL IBT (Internet-based test) 79 + TWE 22
	Tests that are taken more than two years prior to application will not be accepted.

International English Language Testing System (UK IELTS)
	Administered by the British Council of the U.K., the IELTS is an internationally recognized English proficiency exam that is given throughout the year in many countries. For more information on the IELTS, please refer to http://www.britishcouncil.org/ Minimum IELTS score required for admission:
	IELTS Academic Score: 6.5, IELTS Academic Writing Score: 6.5
	Tests that are taken more than two years prior to application will not be accepted.

English Proficiency Exemption
	Applicants who are holding an undergraduate degree received from Boğaziçi University at most two academic years prior to application for graduate program are exempted from English proficiency.
	The language proficiency of those applicants who are the citizens of countries whose official language is English will be determined upon an interview and a written exam, if necessary, conducted by YADYOK.

Graduate Entry Exams (ALES/GRE/GMAT)
	If the exam scores have not been announced at the time of application, you may enter the exam date you have taken/will take and leave the score fields empty. Test score cards must be submitted to the programs applied before the Departmental Exam/Interview date.

	Selection Examination for Academic Personnel and Graduate Studies (ALES)
*	Applicants are required to have taken the ALES, administered by the Student Selection and Placement Center (ÖSYM), and have received the minimum score in the score type required by the Graduate Program to which they are applying.
*	Some programs may not require submission of an ALES score. Please check the application requirements of the specific Graduate Program you wish to apply for further information.
*	Applicants who have exmatriculated from a graduate program and have later been readmitted to the same or any other graduate program, or applicants who have completed a graduate program and have been admitted to another graduate program (having taken no more than a one-semester leave from their program) do not have to take the ALES again.
*	ALES scores are valid for three years.

	Graduate Record Examination (GRE)/Graduate Management Aptitude Test (GMAT)
*	Applicants may submit GRE and/or GMAT scores in place of ALES scores.
*	GRE and GMAT scores, when considered in place of ALES score, are valid for 3 years. When considered along with ALES scores, certain Graduate Programs may accept GRE and GMAT scores as valid for up to 5 years.

Diploma or Graduation Document
	In order to apply to a graduate program an applicant must have been graduated or is expected to graduate from an undergraduate program.
	Those who hold an undergraduate degree must submit diploma or a graduation document. Those who have not graduated yet must submit an official letter indicating that they are expected to graduate.

Disciplinary Record
	Applicants holding a degree from a university in Turkey, are required to submit a disciplinary record taken from the university they have graduated or expected to graduate.
	There is no need for a separate document, in case the transcript includes a disciplinary record.

Official Transcript
	Applicants must possess a minimum cumulative GPA required by the programs that they are applying to.
	An official transcripts showing courses followed and grades received must be submitted to the programs applied.

Statement of Purpose/Research Proposal/CV
	Applicants must submit a statement of purpose. (Not required for all programs Please check the table of application requirements.)
	Applicants must submit a research proposal. (Not required for all programs Please check the table of application requirements.)
	Applicants must submit a CV. (Not required for all programs. Please check the table of application requirements.)

Letters of Reference
	Programs require at least two letters of references from academic and/or business world. (Please check the table of application requirements.)

Departmental Exams and Interviews
	Applicants must take the relevant Departmental Exams/Interviews given separately by each Graduate Program.

	Applicants are responsible for tracking any additional procedures that might be necessary once their applications have been submitted.

Application Fee
	Admission fee is 65TL. For candidates applying from abroad the application fee is €50 or $50.
	A separate application fee applies for each program.
	Students who are registered in Boğaziçi University programs on the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2012-2013 do not have pay the application fee(s).
	All other applicants have to pay the application fee(s). These include Boğaziçi University students who were not registered during the Spring Semester of the Academic Year 2012-2013, Boğaziçi University graduates and outsiders.
	Please make sure that you fulfill all requirements for the program you are applying to and that the Graduate Program does have a quota, before paying the application fee(s).
	Applicants should follow the following steps to pay for the application fee.:
	Online payment for applicants who have access to national payment channels: After registering the online application system, applicants can access to payment screen using either Garanti Bank ATM or branches and selecting the steps "Ödemeler (Payments) -> Üniversite/ÖSYM (University/OSYM) -> Boğaziçi Üniversitesi (Boğaziçi University) -> Yüksek Lisans Başvuru (Graduate Application)" or using Internet banking and selecting the steps "Ödemeler (Payments) -> Kurum (Institution) -> Üniversite (University) -> Boğaziçi Üniversitesi (Boğaziçi University) -> Yüksek Lisans Başvuru (Graduate Applicaton)". Entering the T.C. Identity number or the passport number used in the graduate application system in the field of "Student Number", applicants will be prompted the total amount they are required to pay. Those who pay the application fee online, can check whether their payment verification has been received by the Graduate Application System upon entering the system.
	Payment via SWIFT for applicants from abroad: Applicants may pay the required amount via SWIFT to the bank accounts listed below. Applicants must upload the bank receipt of their transaction to the Graduate Application System. Such payments cannot be verified online. The Office of Registrar will be able to verify the payment within three business day. Only those applicants whose payments are verified by the Office of Registrar will be accepted. It is strongly recommended that applicants following this route to pay admission fees must take into account the delay in verification when they make their application. Applications with invalid payments will be rejected.

Admission Decision
	Admission decisions will be announced at the University website after July 19, 2013 by the respective Institutes.
